Finding exceptional design talent is what we do best. And once the right creative relationship is in place, we stay close to the project — through our project management practice — to make sure what was imagined actually gets built.
Our core practice is design curation — the careful, considered work of matching clients with the right architecture or interior design studio. Alongside that, we offer project management consultancy for clients who want independent oversight through the build. The two services work well together, and can also be engaged independently.
We find the right design studio for your project — from a global roster anchored in India's design tradition — and manage the relationship from introduction through to delivery.

The search for the right design studio is one of the most consequential decisions in any project. Get it right, and everything that follows has a foundation. Get it wrong, and no amount of budget or good intention fixes it later.
This is the work By Kurators was built to do. We maintain a carefully curated roster of architecture and interior design studios — practices we know well, trust completely, and match with genuine care. Our clients don't wade through directories or send cold enquiries. They come to us, and we make the right introduction.
We don't send a list. We make a recommendation — and we stand behind it.
Our starting point is India — a design world we know intimately, with a talent pool that is deep, diverse, and increasingly global in its reach. Alongside our India-based partners, we work with exceptional studios from around the world: practices chosen not for their geography but for their quality, their character, and their ability to deliver across borders.
Every studio on our roster has been assessed on three things: the quality of the work, the integrity of the process, and the fit with the kinds of clients and projects we serve.
A conversation — in person, by phone, or over email. We want to understand the space, the brief, the budget range, and the timeline. And we want to understand you: your aesthetic instincts and what a good outcome looks like.
Based on that conversation, we identify one to three studios from our roster whose work, working style, and project experience genuinely suit your brief. We don't overwhelm — we make a considered recommendation and explain our thinking.
We introduce you to the studio directly — not a cold handover, but a warm and well-prepared connection. We brief the studio on your project and expectations, and we make sure the first meeting is a good one.
Once the relationship is established, we remain available to both parties. If something needs to be clarified, renegotiated, or redirected, we are there to help. The introduction is the beginning, not the end of our involvement.
The right studio is the foundation. But a great design can still fall short if the project itself isn't managed well. Our project management consultancy practice exists to close that gap — sitting between client and creative team as a trusted, independent voice that protects the design intent and keeps the process honest.
We don't just manage the process. We protect what the project was supposed to be.
We establish scope, budget parameters, key stakeholders, and success criteria. We review existing documentation and identify gaps or risks early.
We lead or advise on selection of contractors and key suppliers. We build the project programme and establish the reporting framework.
We are present and accountable throughout the build — on site, in coordination meetings, and in ongoing communication with the client.
We manage the final stages with the same rigour as the build: snagging, defect resolution, handover documentation, and a structured close-out.
Most clients come to us because they need the right design partner and don't know where to find one. That's exactly where we start.
We don't push scope. If a lighter-touch engagement is what your project needs, that's what we'll recommend.
